Brewing Trouble This mystery occurs at the Rocky Mountain High Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado. Thousands of beer-lovers have arrived in Denver to consume their favourite beer, sample new ones and enjoy a frenzy of food and fun. Micro-breweries from around the nation are competing to win the coveted 'Best Brew Award'. Needless to say, the competition is fierce. The festival's pretigious Awards Ceremony is interrupted by a shocking news announcement. Local brewing entrepreneur, Harry Hopps, has been found murdered in his Crystal Springs Brewery. He was knocked unconscious and drowned in a vat of beer. It is a case of ice-cold murder and you are a suspect. The suspects are: Brandy Barleywine - Harry Hopp's partner in Crystal Springs Brewery and his devastatingly beautiful finacee. Their explosive love-work relationship caused more than a few headaches for the now-deceased master of brew. Costume Suggestion - Brandy loves to shop and wears expensive coordinated outfits in the latest fashions with matching jewelry. Money is no object. Hugh Guzzle - A Canadian beer expert, eh! Hugh, an official Beer Festival judge, has spent the past several years traveling the world in a quest to find the perfect beer. In his day job, Hugh negotiates foreign beer distribution rights for micro-breweries in many different countries. Costume Suggestion - Hugh dresses for success but wears a warm hat (for those cold Canadian winters). Lonnie Lager - The drop-dead gorgeous Public Relations Director for Crystal Springs Brewery, Lonnie is a past World Cup ski champion. She is perfect for the job of promoting beer - she has a bubbly personality, pale blond hair and a dry sense of humour. Costume Suggestion - Lonnie maintains close ties with the ski world and is often seen in apre ski wear. She has a great tan and wears dark sunglasses. Bud Belcher - Owner of the upstart Belcher Beer Company, Bud has created a revolutionary new kind of beer. He plans to take the world by storm with his unique 'Millennium Beer' and is looking for investors willing to take a shot at the brass ring. Costume Suggestion - Bud loves to promote his products amd is ususally found wearing Belcher Beer promotional clothing including a baseball cap, t-shirt, jeans, etc., and carries a collection of Millennium Beer samples. Sabrina Hartless - The wicked witch of tabloid TV, Sabrina hosts her own television talk show. She has a talent for 'murdering' her guests' reputations on-air. Coincidentally, she is Harry Hopps' ex with a big score to settle. Costume Suggestion - Sabrina's favourite colour is black and she dresses to dazzle her fans. Make-up is her speciality; intimidation is her game. 'Skunky' Brewster - A pioneer in the micro-brewing industry, 'Skunky' is now retired and 'fermenting' in Florida, as he likes to say. Skunky is attending the Beer Festival to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award and to settle a few old grudges. Costume Suggestion - Retired Floridian look: colourful shorts, golf shirt, calf-high black socks and a straw hat. Oddly, he carries a briefcase stuffed with notes on what's been happening in the beer industry since he left. Extra guests include: (non-suspects) Porter Stout - The lacal mayor and a man who knows a thing or two about beer-drinking. Porter has worked hard to get national publicity for the festival and will stop at nothing to ensure its success. A pompous politician, he likes to work the crowds at every opportunity. Good handshaker. Costume Suggestion - A cheap suit covered in several vintages of beer stains. Porter smokes big cigars and has a vast repertoire of bad jokes. Heidi Stein - A special guest from Munich, Germany, Heidi is at the Beer Festival to promote the upcoming Octoberfest celerations in her country. A past polka champion, Heidi is here for a good time, not a long time. Oom-pa-pa! Costume Suggestion - Traditional German garb. Frilly, white blouse with short skirt and suspenders, solid shoes and knee-high white socks. Braids in hair. Cute accent and loves to hug.
